The Women Who Built Yuno Learning While Building Their Own Lives

When people ask me what I am most proud of at Yuno Learning, they often expect me to talk about our courses, our learners or our growth.

Yes, I am immensely proud that today Yuno Learning has earned more than 1,500 five-star Google reviews. Every review represents a learner whose confidence has grown, whose goals have become achievable and whose life has changed in some way.

But if you ask me what truly fills my heart with gratitude, my answer is different.

It is the women behind those reviews.

I have spent over three decades in education—as a teacher, a school principal, a curriculum designer, a corporate trainer and now an entrepreneur as the Co-founder and Academic Head of Yuno Learning. Throughout this journey, one belief has remained constant: people flourish when they are trusted, encouraged and given the opportunity to grow.

I never imagined that this belief would shape not only the lives of our learners but also the lives of the incredible women who form the backbone of Yuno Learning.

Today, apart from three instructors, every instructor in our organisation is a woman.

This wasn’t a hiring strategy. It wasn’t driven by quotas or targets. It happened naturally because we looked for people with the right attitude—people who were willing to learn, accept feedback, work sincerely and put learners first.

Over the years, I realised that Yuno Learning had quietly become much more than an online education platform.

It had become a place where women could continue to dream without putting the rest of their lives on hold.

Every Woman Walks in with Her Own Story

A resume tells you about qualifications.

Life tells you about courage.

Every instructor who joined us brought her own story.

Some came to us while they were expecting a baby. They wanted to continue working, stay intellectually engaged and contribute professionally during one of the most beautiful phases of their lives.

Some taught classes while caring for newborn babies, planning their schedules around feeding times, doctor’s appointments and countless sleepless nights.

Some continued working while navigating the emotional highs and lows of IVF treatment and the hope of becoming mothers.

Some were going through difficult family situations or marital discord but still chose to show up every day with professionalism and positivity.

Some had chosen not to marry and wanted careers that gave them independence, fulfilment and purpose.

Others already had demanding full-time jobs but wanted an additional source of income—not only for financial reasons but also because they genuinely loved teaching and wanted to keep learning themselves.

Different circumstances.

Different aspirations.

Different challenges.

Yet they all had one thing in common.

An extraordinary willingness to keep moving forward.

As a woman myself, I perhaps understood many of these journeys without too many words needing to be spoken.

Sometimes all someone needs is an opportunity and a little understanding.

Flexibility Isn’t a Perk. It Is Empowerment.

One lesson entrepreneurship has taught me is that talent often goes unnoticed because workplaces are designed around rigid schedules rather than real lives.

Women, especially, wear many hats.

They are daughters, wives, mothers, caregivers, professionals and often the emotional anchors of their families.

Somewhere in trying to balance these roles, many quietly put their own aspirations aside.

At Yuno Learning, we discovered that flexibility could become empowerment.

Our instructors teach online, which allows them to continue their professional journey while honouring their personal responsibilities.

That flexibility has enabled women to remain financially independent, intellectually active and professionally confident without compromising on family commitments.

But flexibility has never meant lowering standards.

On the contrary, our expectations are high because our learners place immense trust in us.

What flexibility has created is ownership.

When people feel trusted, they take responsibility.

Our instructors have proved this repeatedly.

Learning Is at the Heart of Everything We Do

People often assume that teachers already know everything.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

The best educators are lifelong learners.

Every instructor who joins Yuno Learning brings strengths.

Every instructor also has something new to learn.

Some lacked confidence.

Some had never taught online before.

Some were nervous about public speaking.

Some needed guidance in handling learners.

Some had to become comfortable with technology.

Some simply needed someone to tell them, “You can do this.”

One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role as Academic Head has been mentoring these talented women.

I have watched hesitant instructors become confident educators.

I have seen people who once avoided speaking in meetings now conduct engaging workshops.

I have seen women discover abilities they never realised they possessed.

Watching that transformation never gets old.

Leadership Is Shared, Never Owned

People often compliment my leadership.

I receive those compliments with gratitude.

But I also know something they may not.

Leadership can create direction.

Leadership can create culture.

Leadership can create opportunities.

But leadership alone cannot build an organisation.

People do.

Every learner who has thanked us…

Every success story we celebrate…

Every five-star review we receive…

Exists because an instructor invested time, patience and genuine care in another human being.

Someone stayed back after class to answer questions.

Someone redesigned a lesson because learners were struggling.

Someone encouraged a student who had almost given up.

Someone celebrated a learner’s success as though it were her own.

Those moments don’t appear on dashboards.

Yet they define who we are.

More Than Colleagues—A Community

One of the most beautiful things about Yuno Learning is that we have never built only a team.

We have built a community.

When one instructor needs support, another quietly steps in.

Classes are exchanged.

Resources are shared.

Advice is freely given.

Victories are celebrated together.

Perhaps that is because most of us understand what it means to juggle multiple responsibilities.

We know that today’s support will become tomorrow’s strength.

When people see our Google rating, they see excellence.

I see faces.

I see instructors who logged in despite difficult days.

I see mothers finishing household responsibilities before preparing lesson plans.

I see women who refused to let temporary challenges define permanent possibilities.

I see continuous learning.

I see commitment.

I see kindness.

Those 1,500+ five-star reviews are not merely testimonials from learners.

They are acknowledgements of the dedication of every instructor who chose excellence over convenience.

The Greatest Lesson They Have Taught Me

People sometimes say that I have helped these women grow.

Perhaps I have, in some small way.

But if I am honest, they have shaped me just as much.

They have taught me patience.

They have taught me resilience.

They have reminded me that strength is often quiet.

It isn’t always found in grand achievements.

Sometimes strength is simply showing up, giving your best and refusing to stop learning.

That has made me a better educator.

A better leader.

And, I hope, a better human being.

More lives to touch…

As Yuno Learning continues to grow, I hope we never lose what has made us who we are—a culture built on trust, empathy, continuous learning and shared success.

If people remember me as a leader, I would consider that an honour.

But if they remember Yuno Learning as a place where women found confidence, purpose, flexibility and the opportunity to build meaningful careers while navigating life’s many seasons, I would consider that an even greater achievement.

Because organisations are not built by founders alone.

They are built by people who believe in a shared purpose.

I may have co-founded Yuno Learning, but these remarkable women have given it its heart.

And every single day, they remind me that when women are trusted, supported and encouraged to grow, they don’t just transform their own lives.

They transform the lives of everyone they teach.
