Vedic Maths: Introduction of Sunyam Sutra of Algebra

This video of Vedic Math focuses on simple linear equations and their solutions using Vedic Math Sutras. The video is for students in class nine and above. In this video, we will be understanding the meaning of the sutra that will be used in coming videos and how its different meanings have different solutions of simple linear equations. The name of the sutra used is “Shunya Samyasaamuchhye” - शून्य साम्यसमुच्चये. The meaning of this sutra is that when the ‘saamuchhye’ (समुच्चये) are same,then that ‘saamuchhye’ (समुच्चये) is zero.

‘That’ means that the meaning of ‘saamuchhye’ (समुच्चये) is different in different contexts and, in coming videos will be understanding different meanings of ‘saamuchhye’ (समुच्चये) and how it is used to find the solutions of simple linear equations.

Here are some different meanings of ‘saamuchhye’ (समुच्चये):

• A common factors in all the terms
• The product of independent terms when they are same
• Sum of denominators when the numerators are same
• Sum of numerators = sum of denominators, and many more.
