Vedic Maths: Algebra Sunyam Sutra (Meaning – III)
About the video
This video of Vedic Math focuses on simple linear equations and their solutions using Vedic Math Sutras. The video is for students in class nine and above. In this video, we will be understanding the third meaning of the sutra Shunya Samyasaamuchhye. The name of the sutra used is “Shunya Samyasaamuchhye” - शून्य साम्यसमुच्चये. Here, ‘saamuchhye’ (समुच्चये) means the sum of denominators when the numerators are same or equal.
Here, we first check whether the numerators are equal on all the terms of the simple linear equation. Then, if the numerators are equal on every term and we find the sum of denominators. Then, this sum of denominators is equal to zero according to the sutra of vedic maths and then find the solution of the linear equation.
Example
Solve: 1 / (5x + 7) + 1 / (6x + 8) = 0
Answer:
Here, the numerators are equal, i.e. = 1
Therefore, 5x + 7 + 6x + 8 = 0 (sum of denominators)
11x + 15 = 0
Hence, x = -15/11
Stay tuned to know more about this sutra and its applications in simple linear equations in the coming videos of Vedic Math!
