Vedic Maths: Multiply Numbers Which End in 1
About the video
This is a special kind of multiplication method used to solve examples of multiplication when numbers end with 1. This method is derived from the ancient mathematical methods by vedas. This method is considered to be one of the easiest methods in multiplication. Children from the age group 7 years and above are easily able to learn this method.
This method requires knowledge of some basic addition and tables from number 1 to 10 to learn. There are no other prerequisites required to learn this method. This Vedic maths trick is very useful in school maths exams and competitive exams.
For example, if you want to perform 31 x 21. You need to follow the steps below.
- As shown below, mark 3 places in the answer

- Now, put 1 at the unit place.

- Put (3+2) = 5 at ten’s place.
- 5 1
- Put (3 x 2) = 6 at hundreds places.

Note : After calculation if you are getting 2 digits at any place then you need to write only a single digit at that place and carry over the 2nd digit to the next place.
Final answer will be 651.
