What is balancing technique?

It is a technique that will help us to multiply a number ‘x’ with any single digit number. There is no limit on the value of the number. This method is applicable to a number with any value.

How to use this method?

Start from the right hand side. Drop the digit at the rightmost place and carry the next number to the left. The number carried to the left is now added to the value of the number present. Repeat the second and third steps until you reach the leftmost place. We use this method when we want to multiply any number with a single digit number that is, of the form - ‘x’ * Single Digit.
