Vinculum Numbers

This worksheet contains practice questions on Vinculum Numbers and their conversion. Vinculum numbers are helpful while dealing with large numbers as they change the digits from bigger to smaller values. This helps in reducing the time for calculation.

For conversion of normal number to vinculum numbers - Start from RHS and change the digits greater than 5 and apply all from 9 last from 10 on them. Remember to add 1 to the just left of the number where the vinculum is ending. Example- 9854983 - 1V(02)5V(02)3

For conversion of vinculum number to normal number, apply all from n9 last from 10 on the digits having vinculum and subtract 1 from the digit that is just left to a vinculum digit.
