Excel: Fill Feature (Part 2)

MS Excel Fill handle is a feature by which you can extend series of numbers, dates, or even text to a desired number of cells in the active cell of the spreadsheet. If you enter the number 1 in cell E1 and the number 2 in cell E2, you could extend that numbering sequence down through as many cells as you want. You can do this by selecting both cells, then clicking the fill handle with the left mouse button. While holding the left mouse down, drag the mouse down the spreadsheet in column E. If you dragged down to cell E30 and release the mouse button, cells E1 through E30 would now be sequentially numbered 1 to 30 without having to type each number individually. You can use fill option from the FILL menu which placed ‘Editing' group of ‘Home’ tab. If you look the ‘Series’ option under FILL menu you will find a lot of options like linear, growth, Date, Autofill, Trend, Rows , Columns and many more.
