Nowadays, the majority of the students prefer to go abroad for their higher education than continue their studies back in the home country. Though there are few disadvantages of studying abroad, the benefits of studying abroad outdo the demerits.
The first and the foremost advantage is the vast exposure students get at an early stage and that makes them more independent in every aspect of life be it social or financial. Students get to meet other students from diverse cultures, who teach them a lot many things such as new values, food and new practices about various cultures.
Second, they become multi-linguistic as they get the opportunity to interact with people from different countries. These things help them to cope and adjust well socially and learn tolerance. Moreover, studying abroad gives the students a global platform due to which they get a better edge over the students who do not get educated abroad. They are able to get better job opportunities, higher payouts at work and more access to advanced technology. The extensive exposure at such an early age helps them make better decisions in life and manage the resources well.
However, studying abroad is financially very taxing. It certainly is expensive. Also the students have initial hitch of adjusting to the new culture psychologically or in extreme cases they fall prey to unethical practices. The foreign language is the next barrier students have to surpass as not all students become fluent in foreign languages; they have to learn and it requires a lot of effort.
In conclusion, there are more plus points of studying abroad than the minuses as overall it brings better opportunities for the students and makes them better decision makers.
