A large number of people are becoming glued to the computers. I totally agree that computer addiction has taken over people completely and in my opinion it can be reduced by indulging in outdoor activities or by pursuing hobbies such as reading, painting, etc.
Computer addiction is becoming common as most individuals own a personal computer. The addiction leads to many serious effects on the emotional and mental state of a person. To overcome the addiction a lot of willingness and self-control is needed. The person should use the computer only when required or when it is necessary and limit the computer usage ,which can be achieved with persistent efforts. One needs to start indulging in some outdoor activities such as swimming, dancing, exercise, sports, yoga, etc. By doing so, the mind gets diverted and de-stressed, and it helps to break the habit.
Besides the outdoor activities, many indoor hobbies and activities can help in outdoing the computer addiction. Reading, painting, singing, drawing, playing board games or puzzles can really help in giving up the computer addiction. Even deep breathing or meditation helps a lot in getting rid of the computer addiction as it relaxes the brain waves and helps to break the neural path that creates the addiction.
To sum up, computer addiction is increasing day by day and it can be reduced by choosing combination of outdoor and indoor activities. These can help a person in reducing the time on computer and overcoming the computer addiction.

With the invent of the Internet, it has become easier to connect to the world around socially or getting the information. The internet is a huge knowledge database and an information hub. So, it becomes easier for people to get onto the net and access that information with the result, more hours go into browsing on the computer. The number of hours spent on the computer is directly proportional to the browsing time on the internet. The outcome is that the people are indulged into the excessive use of the computer which is also termed as computer addiction.
These days computer has become a necessary evil. All kind of office work, professional work or personal work is carried out on a computer. Resulting in people being addicted to computers. I strongly agree that computers have made the people computer addict.
Working on a computer for long hours creates distress in the body. It affects the mental balance, disturbs the body clock, makes the eyes dry, makes the person lethargic as one remains sitting for a longer durations, one faces concentration issues, one gets socially disconnected. Overall it creates an imbalance in the body and also using a computer is habit-forming activity.
To break this habit of excessive computer usage, one must divert the brain to other hobbies or activities be it playing a game, indulging oneself in the sports or exercising etc. It helps to break the habit of excessive use of a computer. One should take a break from computer work after every 45 minutes and do neck and eyes exercise. A person should try to limit the use of the computer and instead try to be socially more interactive as communication can uplift the mood and freshen up the mind. Dancing and singing are other activities that can destress the body and rejuvenate the senses.
If computer addiction goes unchecked, it can create a lot many issues for a person on a psychological and physiological level. Social communication and indulgence in more activities are the key factors that can help a person in keeping computer addiction at bay.
