The given graph depicts continent wise past population and the approximate population distribution by 2050 in Asia, Europe, America, and Africa.
Overall, Asia has had the largest population since 1750 and even in 2050 it will remain the most populated. As can be seen, in 1750, Asia had the largest population, the second most populated was Europe followed by Africa, and America was the least populated.
Though Europe’s population was significant in 1750, it started to slump in 1950, and is expected to shrink further by 2050. The third most populated continent in 1750 was Africa but the percentage of the population dropped significantly by 1900s; however, surprisingly, it is expected to spike up by the year 2050. On the other hand, America was the least populated in 1750, but its population growth showed an upward trend from 1850 to 1950 and has been stable since then and will continue to remain so till 2050.
Out of all the continents, Africa and America will see population growth till 2050.In Europe, the population is expected to reduce by 2050. However, there will not be a significant change in the population of Asia.
