PART 2
Describe a writer you would like to meet.
You should say:
- who the writer is
- what you know about this writer already
- what you would like to find out about him/her
- and explain why you would like to meet this writer.
Writing is a wonderful job, and I think authors have unique virtues. Meeting the authors is therefore exciting, and I particularly want to meet J.K Rowling because of her great talent for crafting stories, particularly those that are eerie and strange.
She is a screenwriter, producer, and researcher in addition to being a writer. In 1990, while waiting for a train, she was working as a researcher for Amnesty International when she had the idea for Harry Potter. Her fantasy series' best-selling novel, Harry Potter, received international media attention and sold more than 400 million copies. Additionally, she produced the Harry Potter film series. She has published four books for adult readers in addition to her work for children.
Honestly, I'd like to know more about her interests and everyday activities, including what she does, how she interacts with her fans, whether or not she cooks, what she does with her family (husband, kids), the kind of clothing she wears, the kind of home she has, and so forth.
I'd also like to talk to her about her writing career, her plans to write additional young adult fantasy novels, and what inspires her to write. Finally, I'm curious about the genres of novels she enjoys reading and the unique characteristics each aspiring author should possess.
I've always wanted to meet her because she was my childhood hero. I hold her novels in high regard since they encouraged the growth of my imagination. My inspiration from her books has at times been very strong. I'm interested in learning more about the author of Harry Potter. She had a truly unequaled impact on the lives of millions of kids around the world.
PART 3
What kinds of books are most popular with children in your country? Why do you think that is?
According to my experience and observations, children in my nation prefer to read comic books, mystery novels, rhyming collections, fairy tales, and fiction. Teenagers enjoy reading mystery and fiction books, while young children choose comics and books with attractive illustrations. Fairy tales are more tolerable among girls. I had always loved mysteries and detective stories as a child.
Why do you think some children do not read books very often?
Reading books is a habit, and once a youngster experiences the limitless joy a book can bring, he or she develops a love of reading. However, some people never develop this habit, either because they are too busy with other activities to curl up with a good book or because their parents did not encourage them to read books that are not required for school. Young children imitate their parents, so it is less probable that a youngster would begin reading on his or her own if neither parent is a proficient reader.
How do you think children can be encouraged to read more?
As I've already mentioned, parents should read for pleasure and encourage their kids to do the same. Every night, they should read books to their kids and encourage them to explore the hidden worlds in books. They should use extreme caution while choosing books for the children, and they can use the Internet as a resource because many websites compile lists of "the most appropriate books" according to a child's age. On the other hand, teachers may be very helpful in the classroom and can encourage young pupils to read more books by setting up reading sessions.
Are there any occasions when reading at speed is a useful skill to have? What are they?
Well, as far as I can remember, reading quickly is really beneficial for everyone, but especially for students. Many examinations demand that a student scan the passages in order to answer the questions as soon as feasible. A candidate's ability to finish the exam on time and receive a good grade would be hindered by slow reading.
Additionally, some school-sponsored reading contests require students to read carefully and rapidly. Finally, a student must study several books and chapters in order to complete the homework assigned in the institution. It might be exceedingly difficult for people without the ability to read quickly to finish such assignments.
Are there any jobs where people need to read a lot? What are they?
I can state that a lot of reading is required for academics, journalists, professors, bloggers, business analysts, authors, and editors. Aside from the jobs I've described, I'm quite certain there must be many more where reading is occasionally necessary. According to my own experience, reading is essential for both a researcher and a journalist. Business analysts, editors, and bloggers all need to read a lot to come up with ideas and learn about the competition. Writers are natural readers who always like to read.
Do you think that reading novels is more interesting than reading factual books? Why is that?
This is an extremely difficult issue to answer, and I'm sure that everyone will have a different take on it. Personally, I have always been an avid reader of novels and have never found nonfiction literature to be as captivating. But I just changed my mind about this decision. Nowadays, I like nonfiction literature over novels. This decision, in my opinion, is influenced by the reader's preferences, background, and age.
