PART 2
Describe a child that you know.
You should say:
- who this child is and how often you see him or her
- how old this child is
- what he or she is like
- and explain what you feel about this child.
Even though it seems like they were born only a few weeks or months ago, some youngsters are growing up right in front of our eyes, which is a clear indication that time passes very quickly.
Anyway, I still clearly recall the day that my good friend Akshay got married, which was maybe seven years ago. My friend and his wife welcomed their first kid, Dhruv, a little more than a year later. I suppose it is accurate to say that I have known this youngster since the day he was born. I visit him at least five or six times per month, and he is now almost five years old.
Naturally, I didn't exactly develop a strong attachment to this child right away because, I must admit, he was a little too young for my taste or attention. Even though my friend and his wife sought to establish some sort of "aunt-nephew" relationship between the baby and me, I actually tried to stay away from that small baby boy. However, as he developed and began to make eye contact, I grew to like the youngster. He is quite endearing and charming.
Since that time, my interaction with the young 5-year-old child has been anything but monotonous and dull. Now, Dhruv and I hardly ever go more than a week without running into one another and enjoying some ice cream or having him race my bike while I pretend to be running alongside him. These days, the kind and intelligent 5-year-old also asks me to watch some humorous cartoons with him, and I pretend to enjoy them.
I find this child so endearing since he constantly seems so content. In fact, I haven't often noticed him expressing sadness or rage. I like this sweet child because if you can't buy him any chocolate right now, at least promise to buy him some the next time.
PART 3
How much time do children spend with their parents in your country? Do you think that is enough?
According to what I can tell, parents in my nation today do not have enough time to spend with their kids because, in the majority of situations, both parents are employed nowadays. Additionally, kids are busier than ever with school and extracurricular activities, making it increasingly harder for parents to spend enough quality time with their kids. After all, saying goodbye to the kids by their parents before they go to bed and spending a short time with them before breakfast, practically every day can never be seen as sufficient.
How important do you think spending time together is for the relationships between parents and children? Why?
In my opinion, spending time with children is incredibly crucial for parents, especially during the first five years of a child's life. This will foster a strong tie between parents and children that will essentially define their relationship for the rest of their lives.
Along with other crucial social and communication skills, it will assist the young children in learning proper human behaviors such as love, respect, and empathy. These traits are extremely necessary for developing into decent and ideal citizens.
Have relationships between parents and children changed in recent years? Why do you think that is?
Yes, I agree that there has been a significant change in the relationship between parents and children in recent years, primarily as a result of parents becoming overly concerned with how to raise their children and how to help them have a better future and career in a world that has become more challenging and dangerous.
Due to conflicting signals they are receiving from various media outlets, parents are also unsure of how tight or lenient to be when parenting their kids. As a result, kids are unsure of how to use their independence and free time to explore and make use of their surroundings.
What are the most popular free-time activities with children today?
Children adore doing a variety of things in their leisure time, such as going to the zoo or park nearby, watching cartoons and animated movies on both tiny and large screens, going swimming or playing sports in the water. These days, too many kids spend their leisure time playing video games and browsing the internet at home, and since they don't actually appreciate outside activities that much, these are also seen to be the most popular pastimes.
Do you think the free-time activities children do today are good for their health? Why is that?
I think it all relies on the types of activities the kids are engaging in during their free time. They will undoubtedly show to be beneficial to their mental and physical health if they engage in outdoor activities like swimming, playing sports, and any other activities that keep them in contact with the natural world and their friends. On the other hand, it is reasonable to assume that these activities won't be beneficial for their physical and mental health if they are playing too many video games alone at home and eating a lot of fast food.
How do you think children’s activities will change in the future? Will this be a positive change?
I have a sense that the children's activities that are anticipated to emerge in the future won't result in many positive improvements because they will focus more on the mind and technology than enough on the body and the outdoors. In addition, it is anticipated that future activities would be more indoor in nature, encouraging kids to stay at home and engage in their hobbies on their own. And if that's the case, it will eventually have some detrimental effects on the kids' social and communication skills.
