I enjoy participating in a variety of competitions that motivate and drive me to put forth my best effort. For me, it is more than just winning a prize. I have surely gained substantial experience and skills by just taking part in small or big competitions.

If you’ve ever visited Google.com, you’ve probably noticed that the logo can be a bit of a changeling. Sometimes the letters are warped to fit into a static image, other times a slideshow or even interactive games. These are called Google doodles! Doodles are meant to surprise and delight people when they visit Google.com.

Because of my love for art, I came across the ‘Doodle for Google’ contest. It is an annual art contest open to students of all age groups. Students are invited to create their own Google Doodle for the chance to have it featured on Google.com, as well as win some great scholarships and tech packages for their schools. The Doodle for Google provides an opportunity to display their own Doodle creativity on Google.com and win some awesome prizes while doing it! Although the competition is cutthroat and only a few artworks are selected in one season, a lot of students take part annually.

Google has been hosting the ‘Doodle for Google’ contest every year since 2008, so this will likely be the fourteenth year. I have seen the details for the contest on the website and the Doodle for Google contest takes place in other countries throughout the year as well.

I too have been planning to give it a shot and it might happen in the coming month, I hope! I am certain that it will allow me to showcase my skills on a bigger platform. Even if I don’t win, just taking part in it will definitely brighten up my resume, which is like an icing on the cake.
