Answer:
Being a very health conscious person, I regularly read a lot of columns and studies related to health and lifestyle. Through a lot of articles I have learned several things about mental health and physical fitness.
On Sunday morning, while I was scrolling through my social media, I came across an advertisement, which promoted the use of healing crystals and how they can help you maintain stress and have the power to heal the body. I instantly clicked on the link and it took me to a very famous website, which regularly posted a lot of articles on health and fitness. The article was published on the Healthline website and was presented by Dr. Meg Walters, who is a health and lifestyle journalist.
The article discussed the facts and myths related to healing crystals, which was now one of the most popular trends in alternative medicine. It is believed by some that holding crystals or positioning them on various areas of the body can give physical and mental benefits. The idea is that crystals interact with the body’s energy field creating balance and alignment. The write up further discussed the history of crystal healing along with the science behind it. It also mentioned various case studies that were conducted to back up the fact that they actually work!
I was absolutely intrigued after reading the article because I had never thought that things like stones and crystals could hold such powers. I also came to know how we can use different types of jewels to heal different kinds of ailments, which was pretty interesting. So all in all, the article was a great read and I would surely like to gather more information on the topic and try to give it a shot someday.
IELTS Speaking Part 3 Questions
Q. How do you think people could become healthier?
I strongly believe that getting fit is not only about eating healthy and exercising. In reality, creating a healthy lifestyle and maintaining it isn’t about just those two factors. It’s also about being able to keep a positive attitude, strong mental health and a healthy self-image.
There is a ton of advice out there on how to achieve a healthy lifestyle like drinking more water, moving towards a healthy diet or just by simply avoiding negativity within oneself. People can also meditate and exercise early in the morning and spend a few hours doing recreational activities in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Q. Are there any differences between the way old people and young people try to stay healthy?
Definitely. There are several differences between the ways in which young and old people maintain their health. Older adults work very hard to maintain their health because their ageing bodies require a lot of nourishment and proteins to function properly. The body couldn't function effectively in an older stage for a variety of reasons.
On the other hand, young people always engage in a lot of activity in their day-to-day lives since they don't need any specific exercises or diets to stay updated because their bodies are still in the development stage, but as people get older, they need more exercise than they did when they were younger.
Q. Do schools in your country have any special activities to enhance the fitness of students?
In India, there are many School-based programs organised regularly to increase physical activity for the students to enhance their stamina and growth.
Schools are now adopting new ways to promote healthier lifestyles, such as conducting regular yoga and meditation classes during the class hours or in between the classes which improves concentration of students. They make sure that kids are participating in various sports activities in order to help them maintain a healthy weight, and potentially improve their health outcomes over time.
Q. Do you think people in the future will be doing more exercise and eating healthier than they are today?
Yes, absolutely. In my perspective, leading a healthy life is now a new goal. We have known for a long time that a balanced diet and ample physical activity are good for us. But with increasing self-realisation among people, beauty, and health have become a status symbol. People’s desire for a healthy life has surely triggered a health boom and there is an ever-increasing awareness of a healthier lifestyle.
Q. Why is it that different people want to see different magazines?
Because everyone has a varied set of interests, different types of magazines are enjoyed by different readers.
I think that magazines target particular industries. People who enjoy sports read publications about sports, like Sports Today, people who enjoy fashion, like Vogue, people who are interested in movie stars, prefer Stardust and FilmFare.
Apart from that, the choices also vary according to different age groups.
Q. Do people still buy magazines in your country?
I still love reading printed books and physical magazines, and I can’t imagine people who don’t.But the truth is that my reading habits have changed over the last five years. Although people still read books, we’re moving toward digital sources of information. Most of us intuitively realise that fewer and fewer people are reading print versions of magazines.
Information is just so widely and readily accessible nowadays, that it continues to be difficult for magazine and publishing companies to stay afloat or be different in some way.
