IELTS Speaking Part 1 Gifts Question and Answers
1. When do people give gifts or presents in your country?
In my nation, people typically offer gifts to others on significant occasions like birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries. The practice of exchanging gifts over the holiday season is widely practiced. We frequently buy presents for our students, coworkers, or teachers as well.
2. Do you like giving or receiving gifts?
Actually, I enjoy both. On certain occasions, such as my birthday, receiving gifts makes me happy. I also enjoy giving gifts to others to brighten their day and enjoy watching their faces when they open them.
3. Do you ever take a gift when you visit someone in their home? [Why/Why not?]
Yes, I do typically purchase a gift for such a situation. I do it because it's a widely accepted custom in our nation and it's exciting to think about giving a host a present, especially if they like it. Additionally, it's a considerate guest gesture and a sign of appreciation.
4. When did you last receive a gift? [What was it?]
That's a good question, and it makes me think of a present that I received a few weeks ago from a close friend. She visited her grandparents in Italy in October of last year, and upon her return, she gave me an Italian-made perfume. She gave me an expensive gift, and I am grateful for it.
5. Do you enjoy looking for gifts for people? [Why/Why not?]
Yes, I enjoy exploring several stores to find a thoughtful present for someone I care about. It can take some effort to come up with a good gift idea and then to actually buy the thing, but doing so shows how much we value and care about the recipient. If the recipient enjoys the gift, the effort we took to find it was worth every minute.
6. What kinds of gifts are popular in your country?
India is a diverse nation, and individuals there give a variety of presents to others depending on the occasion, culture, and personal preference. But in my opinion, my nation is famed for its flowers, chocolates, cash, and jewelry.
