Do you often use coins?

Yes, I do. When I travel and need to give change to auto or cab drivers, I use coins, mainly the five-rupee coin, because it stands out from others. Also, paper notes often get soiled or torn from overuse, making coins preferable. So, at times, I need to use coins.

Did you collect coins as a child?

Collecting coins was not my cup of tea. I just noticed my parents and relatives using coins, so they felt ordinary to me and never inspired me to collect them.

Do people in your country still use cash a lot?

Yes, they do. Especially people living in rural areas use coins because they might not have access to digital means of transaction. Also, unpredictable weather conditions may disrupt connections, making digital transactions difficult for them. Hence, most still use coins for different purposes.

Have digital payments changed the use of coins?

Yes, digital payment modes like UPI and mobile wallets have led to a reduction in the usage of coins. People nowadays don't like to carry cash since it's troublesome and sometimes risky too. Thus, digital means of transaction have indeed brought about a change in the way we use coins.

Do you think coins will disappear in the future?

Indeed, they may, since presently,  the usage of digital payment  has made people understand how handy and safe it is. Consequently, more and more people are using it rather than physical notes and coins. I believe that within five years, coins may become completely obsolete.
