Part 2:

Talk about a time when you organised a happy event successfully.

You should say:

  • What the event was
  • How you prepared for it
  • Who helped you to organise it
  • Explain why you think it was a successful event.

I consider myself to be a lousy planner but there are some situations where you don’t have much of a choice and you have to pitch in to plan out some particular events. Recently, it was the inauguration of my family’s new office and I was assigned the responsibility of organising the entire event as my parents were busy with the launch of a new product. Initially, I was a bit skeptical about it but after a while, I got a hang of it and once I got to know how important the event was for my family, I got down to the organisation in earnest.

For starters, I made a huge list of the things that I had to do so that I could treat each item on the list as a task and check the box once each task was fulfilled. The very next thing that I did was to get the contact numbers of different businesses that I had to call, such as the decorator, caterer, event host, and event manager. I asked my friends to help me out with this event as it was not a piece of cake for me. They helped me to get in touch with a better event designer and a caterer who helped me with the food menu and delivery. Sorting these two aspects was the main task on my list. Fortunately, the other tasks were pretty easy for me to manage. After the event, everyone applauded me for being able to make this happen in such a short period, despite being the youngest one in the family.

In addition to this, one of my uncles asked me to plan out his upcoming event too and I agreed happily. I believe this was a successful event as everyone who greeted me praised me for my hard work and efforts towards making this day memorable, not only for my family but for the attendees as well.

Part 3:

  • How can parents help children to be organised?

There are a plethora of things that parents can do to make their children more organised. Firstly, parents can get their kids to plan their day, right at the beginning of the day so that they get into the habit of planning and organising. Secondly, one can teach one’s offspring to make a to-do list for all the activities and tasks that are supposed to be done on a particular day. I think these small habits will inculcate the skill of organising in the younger generation.

  • On what occasions do people need to be organised?

Although one should be organised as a general practice, there are certain situations in which one must be organised. These include situations like planning any sort of event, party, wedding, or family gathering wherein one needs to be particular about every detail so that the event goes as per plan without any hitches or inconvenience to the attendees.

  • Does everything need to be well prepared?

Although it is widely believed by people that everything must be planned to achieve perfection, I believe that sometimes, it’s okay to be a bit spontaneous and go with the flow rather than being concerned about everything going according to the plan. For instance, a lot of people tend to go on solo trips with no expectations or a particular plan in mind so that they can experience what the adventurous trip holds for them. This not only allows one to live more freely but to also enjoy the present moment to the fullest.

  • Do people need help from others when organising things?

I believe that sometimes, people do need help with managing their things or organising their environment. For instance, kids need assistance from their parents or guardians when they are playing with toys or studying. Usually, elders help children to pack their bags when they are leaving for school. Furthermore, if one is going on a trip, one can ask one’s parents to help one pack so that one does not miss out on anything.
