Part 2:

Talk about an organisation or a company that you know.

You should say:

  • How big is it?
  • Do you think this company is successful? Why?
  • What about the working environment there?

Microsoft, a tech giant of global renown, stands as a colossal organisation with a vast footprint across the globe. Its reach spans numerous countries, showcasing its substantial size and impact on the technology landscape.

In my opinion, the success of Microsoft is measured not just in revenue and market share, but in the impact it has had on shaping the digital landscape.  I remember chatting with some engineers working on Microsoft Azure – their cloud platform. It wasn't just a job for them; it was like a collective mission to redefine what's possible in the cloud tech realm.

Undoubtedly, Microsoft's success is unequivocal and firmly rooted in its pioneering role in the evolution of the tech industry. Founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen, the company's vision of placing a computer on every desk has become a reality. I believe, without me putting it into words,  the magnitude of its success is evident in its consistent top-tier ranking in global market capitalization.

The working environment at Microsoft is characterised by a culture of creativity and collaboration. I have read testimonials about how employees are encouraged to think innovatively and pursue ambitious ideas at Microsoft. One recent article talked about the distinctive feature of Microsoft's work environment - its commitment to employee well-being. The company provides comprehensive benefits, flexible work arrangements, and ample development opportunities. Initiatives like the "One Week" hackathon exemplify Microsoft's dedication to fostering innovation and employee satisfaction.

Furthermore, Microsoft's commitment to sustainability and social responsibility is noteworthy. The company's initiatives to address environmental concerns and bridge the digital divide reflect a corporate ethos extending beyond profit margins.

The company's commitment to innovation, employee welfare, and societal impact is what I truly admire and is what solidifies its standing as a global leader in shaping the future of technology.

Part 3

  • What is the difference between big and small industries?

From my experience, the difference between big and small industries extends beyond mere scale. In smaller industries, there's often a familial atmosphere, where everyone knows each other, fostering a close-knit community. On the flip side, larger industries provide a vast professional network, exposing employees to diverse perspectives and opportunities. Personally, I've found that the collaborative spirit in smaller companies enhances teamwork, while the resources in larger ones enable more extensive skill development.

  • What are the benefits of working for large industries?

Having navigated both small and large industries in my career, I can attest to the benefits of working for larger companies. The stability and career growth opportunities offered by them have been crucial for my professional journey. In a large organisation, I had the chance to participate in specialised training programs and  broaden my skill set, which prepared me for various roles. The comprehensive benefits offered by these companies not only provide financial security but also demonstrate a commitment to employee well-being.

  • Should large companies be punished more severely than small ones?

In my opinion, punishments for companies should be equitable, considering the severity of the offence rather than size. While larger companies may have more resources, punishing them excessively can have unintended consequences, such as job losses for innocent employees. In fact, it's essential to focus on remedial actions that address the root cause, promoting a culture of responsibility and ethical conduct.

  • How can a company maintain the quality of the service it provides to the population?

Maintaining service quality involves not just meeting standards but exceeding customer expectations. An anecdote that stands out is when a company I worked for actively sought customer feedback, leading to the implementation of improvements based on direct input. This approach not only elevates service quality but also demonstrates a commitment to customer satisfaction.

  • Do you think it is important for a company to provide after-sales service?

As a discerning consumer, my loyalty often hinges on after-sales service. An anecdote that left a lasting impression was when a company promptly resolved a product issue and, to my surprise, included a handwritten note expressing their appreciation for my loyalty. Such personalised gestures transcend transactional relationships, creating a sense of trust and loyalty that extends beyond the initial purchase.
