Part 1:

• How has technology made our lives easier?

Technological advancements have enhanced our way of living in every manner. Access to remote information is possible only because of this development and it teaches us new things every day.

• Which invention do you find most useful in everyday life?

The mobile phone, of course, is the best invention to date as it has made communication easier and faster. We can talk to our near and dear ones despite being miles apart. Not only talking but smooth conduct of business meetings and advertisement of one’s business products is also possible because of cell phones.

• Is it difficult for older people to understand new technologies?

For some people, it can be challenging to learn new technologies as they are accustomed to old ways of doing things. On the other hand, I also feel that some seniors are eager to learn and adapt to new technology. Once they learn it, they tend to remember it and use it efficiently for a very long time.

• What can be done to help the elderly learn to use new technologies?

They can be given proper guidance while learning new technologies, which can enhance their digital skills. As a result, they can do actions independently without feeling the need to rely on people around them. For instance, if an elderly couple lives alone, they can easily use their phones and order groceries online from different shopping apps, if they are taught how to do it.

• Would our lives be better if we lived without technology?

Our lives would be more complex without technology. That’s because gadgets ease our day-to-day activities. For example, ordering groceries online, booking a cab, booking hotels, and so on are tasks that have become less time consuming and simpler, owing to technology. Now, when everything works on technology, people cannot imagine their lives without it.
