Question: Today in many countries, in order to find work people have to move away from their friends and family. Do the advantages of this trend outweigh the disadvantages? 

Answer:

In order to acquire employment, people all around the globe have to relocate, far away from their near and dear ones. In my view, it offers more benefits than drawbacks to individuals.  

On the one hand, by moving out to a new city or country, one not only learns a lot of new things but also gets to grow on a personal level as one explores one's capabilities and potential in all walks of life. Moreover, one becomes independent and does not  have to rely on anyone emotionally or financially. In addition, individuals can  indulge in various new hobbies in their spare time. For instance, pursuits  such as reading, writing, dancing, and singing contribute to the overall development of one's personality.   

On the other hand, it is an extremely challenging task for individuals to move away from their parents and friends and start a new life in a new region. While focusing on work, one also has to make efforts to complete household chores on one’s own, which earlier one did not have to do. For instance, people have to be responsible for cooking, cleaning and managing their personal  belongings. Lastly, one might also feel homesick when staying away from one’s family members. 

In my view, relocating to a new place offers one the opportunity to assess one’s  skills and endurance in a changing environment, which one is not familiar with. Also, it makes a person emotionally strong and boosts self-esteem, which allows one to attain growth. 

To encapsulate, each individual might find the experience of shifting to a new city to be  different as per their lifestyle. In my opinion, it has more benefits than disadvantages as an individual learns numerous new things and inculcates new habits in order to succeed.
