Do you usually leave your room door open or closed?

I usually prefer keeping the door of my room closed since privacy can be maintained, and disturbances can be avoided. Normally, if the door is kept open, the sound of the TV can be heard, which sometimes creates a minor problem while I am writing something or teaching. So, I prefer to keep my door closed.

Have you ever forgotten to lock a door?

Yes, I did. Once, I left home in a hurry as I was running late, and I forgot to lock the back door. It was only after I had boarded the bus that I remembered. So I hurriedly called my relatives who lived next door and asked them to do something. Now I always double-check the lock because it is better to be safe than sorry. 

Do you think doors are important for privacy?

Indeed, they are. Specifically, if there are more family members, then it becomes difficult to maintain privacy sometimes. In such a case, keeping the door closed during specific time periods, such as working or sleeping, is the only option left for having privacy.

What kind of doors do you like in houses?

I generally like strong wooden doors that are sturdy and thick enough to restrict outside noise from entering. However, these can be costly, and so good-quality plywood doors are also preferable. These come in a variety of textures and colours, which are capable of improving the look of the room as well.

Have smart doors become common in your area?

Smart doors are more common among the upper classes today, who mostly live in gated communities. Generally, brands such as Godrej and Philips are preferred by modern families since they can be accessed by smartphones and are hassle-free.
