Question: The graph below shows the prices of houses in three countries between 1978 and 2014. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.

The provided graph illustrates the average house prices in three countries, A, B, and C, spanning the years 1978 to 2014.

Throughout the given timeframe, there was a general upward trend in average housing prices in all three countries. Notably, country A consistently maintained higher average house costs compared to countries B and C for the majority of the period.

Country A witnessed a substantial increase in its average property cost, soaring from approximately $50,000 in 1978 to $200,000 in 1979. However, there was a minor decline of $80,000 during 1981, followed by a gradual recovery, culminating in a peak of $800,000 in 2014.

In 1978, countries B and C had similar average property prices at $50,000. By 2002, the price in country B had surged to around $400,000, while in country C, prices had only reached approximately $325,000. Subsequently, prices in country B experienced a decrease from 2002 to 2005, followed by a significant increase until 2014 when prices peaked at $400,000. Similarly, prices in country C declined until 2005, then steadily rose until 2014, with a closing figure greater than country B at approximately $500,000.
