Question: Fast food is a part of life in many places. Some people think this has bad effects on lifestyle and diets. Do you agree or disagree?

Answer:

Consumption of junk food has become a prominent part of people’s lives. It is believed by some that fast food takes a toll on our lifestyle and diet. I totally agree with the given view as junk food not only leads to an unbalanced diet but also disrupts the lifestyle of people.

Due to the jet-paced life that people lead nowadays, they tend to consume more ready-to-eat meals than home-cooked ones. This has, in turn, led to disrupted eating habits for a plethora of people as fast food does not offer a balanced diet due to the absence of macro and micronutrients. Moreover, consuming junk food on a daily basis leads to a higher chance of developing health risks in the long run. For instance, one might be prone to the risk of heart disease, obesity, or even infections because of overconsumption of junk food.

Moreover, eating a great deal of street food disrupts the lifestyle of an individual. With the ease of access to various food chains, it has become a prominent choice for people to eat from restaurants or cafes rather than eat a home-cooked meal. Also, it has made people drift away from traditional meals and opt for a variety of continental meals such as burgers, pizza, and rolls. This has certainly created a shift in lifestyle as people tend to stay up late and order fast food because of easier access through delivery apps, especially for the younger generation, which prefers to eat fast food at all times.

To encapsulate,  fast food has undoubtedly played a key role in altering diets and the way people live and as a matter of fact, it has led to detrimental effects on human health because of its low nutritional value.
