Useful and Interesting English Expressions

In this video our Expert Spoken English Trainer shares some useful English Expressions which will make you sound more interesting and peppy. For instance, do you know what is “Hunky Dory Brigade”? Every leader or president usually has a set of advisors around her whose job is to ensure others that everything is under control, and things are going as planned. So these people who give semblance that everything is fine is the ‘Hunky Dory Brigade’.

 Another such interesting term we have is to ‘sweeten the pot’. Suppose you are a CEO of a company (hmmmm!! that sounds good) and you want some extra work done from your juniors. You know that if you assign a job to your subordinates the work will be done, but it would not be of good quality. So, you decide to sweeten the pot, by offering overtime remuneration, to anyone who volunteers to do the job. Soon you have a set of employees fighting to clinch the extra work. How did this happen? ----Because you decided to make the deal sweeter or more enticing by throwing in some financial incentives and freebies.
