What to include in your SOP

You need to submit the SOP - Statement of Purpose - when you wish to pursue a program in any university or college. It builds a connection between your past qualification and the future you want to build with the program in a particular college.  

Your SOP speaks for you and can get you the much-coveted seat in a program of your dream college. A well-written SOP gives your dream university a brief idea about your educational and career trajectory till date, your reason and motivation behind pursuing that particular stream and your future goals after the completion of your course. 

This document lets the university understand your strengths, weaknesses, achievements and other important information about you.

But you cannot copy it from anywhere because you are unique and your story is different from that of others. 

Hence, you need to understand the technique required for connecting the dots of your past, present and what you want in future, and why you should be preferred for the program you wish to pursue.

What information should you include in your Statement of Purpose?

You should include reasons for choosing a particular program and a particular university. You should also mention why you want to pursue it and what achievements you have had in the past because of which you should be given admission.
