How should you communicate about the present?

Present Simple Tense

• The present simple tense is used to talk about present facts, present habits, universal truth.

Example:

 Nowadays, parents give a lot of freedom to their children. 

I exercise daily. 

I go swimming on weekends.

• The sun is the source of solar energy.
• The earth goes round the sun.

Present Continuous Tense 

The present continuous tense is used for actions that are in progress at present or temporarily.

Example: 

• We are discussing the tenses now. 
• These days, I’m working on a different project. 

Present Perfect Tense

The present perfect tense is used for a recent action/ indefinite past/ a state that has continued till present.

Example: 

• Unemployment has become a major problem.
• I have lived here since my birth.
• My hometown hasn’t changed much during the last five years.

Present Perfect Continuous Tense

The present perfect continuous tense is used for an action in progress from past till present.

Example:

• I have been playing the guitar since my childhood. 
• I have been going to dance classes since last year.
• She has been unwell for the last two weeks.
