About the video

The first principle to write effective business emails is: Keep it short and sweet. You should be concise and to the point. Modern Business email writing is all about saving the reader's time. So, cut your emails ruthlessly. You should do this so that two things can be achieved. Firstly, this will save the reader’s time, and secondly, it will help you to get to the essence of your message. But while making it brief, don’t leave out the essential points. Make it complete. It should include all the essential information needed for that email. However, while making it brief, you should not fall into the trap of using abbreviations. Avoid abbreviations. Emails become unnecessarily long when you try to include irrelevant points in your email. Be very clear about the reasons for writing the email. One email should be about one subject. If needed write another email, but the subject line should match the content of the email. Always remember that reading long emails on a PC screen or a laptop can be painful for many. Keep making your points as concise as possible till you yourself feel the crispness of your email. Put yourself in the shoes of the reader before sending it.
