The given bar graph shows the proportion of state employees as per their occupation in 1981 and 2014.
On the whole, the most preferred and least preferred occupations in the year 1981 and 2014 were professional jobs and managerial/administrative jobs respectively. Also, the number of employees was more in 2014 (34,638) than in 1981 (31,079).
In 1981, about 27% of the employees served the professional services which were the most preferred that year, whereas the least preferred occupation of that year was the managerial/administrative service which had a total of just 3% of the employees. Service category was the second most preferred occupation and Office/Clerical work was the third most popular occupation. Technical and other jobs were equally preferred after the major ones.
In 2014 the most and the least preferred occupations remained the same as in 1981 - the professional jobs which had 46% of the employees and managerial/administrative jobs which had only 4% of the employees respectively. The ‘other’ jobs were the second most preferred , which absorbed 21% of the employees . Technical and clerical/office were the third in preference - 10% of the employees in each category respectively. Rest of the 9% of the employees preferred the service category.

Overall, as per the bar graph, in 2014 (34, 638) the number of state employees was more as compared to the state employees in the year 1981 (31,079). Each bar of the graph depicts the percentage of the employees by the type of profession they are in.
The professional services were highly preferred in 1981 which was to the tune of 27%. On the other hand, only 3% of employees preferred managerial/administrative occupation. Service and Clerical/Office occupation were next in the preference to about 23% and 20% respectively. Technical and other services were at par in preference which holds 13% and 14% respectively.
Although in 2014, the preference for the professional services still remained high with 46% of the employees and the least preferred occupation also remained the managerial/administrative jobs having only 4% of employees.
The preference to other jobs became the second most popular occupation choice that had about 21% of the employees. Service, Office/Clerical and Technical were almost at par in preference which had 9% and latter two at 10% of employees respectively.
